How was I selected for membership into The National Attorneys?

Only the nation’s preeminent attorneys with a minimum of 10 years of practice experience, a career of accomplishment, and who are qualified for membership based solely upon objective and uniformly applied criteria are invited.  Invitees must demonstrate superior qualifications, leadership skills, and results. The selection process for this honor includes possible peer nominations combined with third-party research.

Prospective members are carefully screened prior to receiving an invitation for membership. The criteria used in the evaluation process include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reputation among peers, the judiciary, and the public as reflected by objective and verifiable information
  • Notable achievements in the profession and/or in a practice area or specialty
  • Board Certifications in an area of specialty
  • Nominations received from leading lawyers, current members and/or our Executive Committee members
  • Leadership and membership within other national and state attorney or specialty organizations
  • Rankings and ratings of the attorney by credible established associations or organizations.

Membership is not automatically renewed; attorneys are reevaluated annually to determine whether their activities and accomplishments qualify them for continued membership.

Why should I accept an invitation to join and what do I get for membership dues?

The invitation alone is proof of the fact that you are a premier attorney.  But recognition and benefits come only with membership.
The National Attorneys distinguishes itself from any other legal trade associations by providing:
  1. Exclusive membership to select attorneys in certain practice areas – only highly qualified and experienced attorneys in those practice areas are selected for invitation by using transparent objective standards that are uniformly applied – there is no qualification by “peer review” or any type of favoritism
  2. An honorary professional trade association – with active memberships and association benefits
  3. Low uniform cost for universal value to all members
  4. Professional promotion, potential for elite referrals and business relationships, networking, marketing of members on web properties and publications that is continuous – not dependent on an attorney’s own promotion and recognition.
  5. Cross practice area networking opportunities for elite client referral and business relationships
  6. Use of The National Attorneys seal – designating you as one of The GIANTS of BIGLAW™ … for your website and marketing materials
  7. Your biography, photo, and profile including firm name displayed on the website and a link to your firm’s website
  8. Access to a distinguished plaque, desk recognition or statue which denotes your accomplishments as one of The GIANTS of BIGLAW™
  9. A press release, if requested, to announce your membership in The National Attorneys.
The association offers valuable business, marketing, case referral and networking opportunities through premier sponsored or endorsed meetings, seminars, legal publications, a comprehensive and member centered website, and other relevant membership services.  Members are featured on The National Attorneys website in its membership directory which serves as a useful marketing, networking, referral, and public relations tool for members.
